DISCLAIMERS

The Finger Lakes Rail Experience is operated in partnership with the Finger Lakes Railway and affiliated organizations. These excursions are special event operations that may vary in schedule, amenities, or equipment.

Please do not contact Finger Lakes Railway or Amtrak regarding information or reservations. Their offices and staff do not have details about these excursions and cannot assist with bookings. The Finger Lakes Rail Experience reserves the right to revise its terms, conditions, disclaimers, and notices at any time.

All schedules, amenities, and experiences are subject to change due to railroad logistics, late departures, equipment substitutions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

LIABILITY

Train operations take place in active railroad environments. Please be mindful of your safety and the safety of others. Watch your step, remain alert near moving equipment, be cautious on uneven surfaces, and always follow instructions from train staff.

Your presence and participation as a ticket holder, guest, or vendor indicate acceptance of the inherent risks associated with rail travel and special event operations. The Finger Lakes Rail Experience reserves the right to substitute motive power or passenger cars as necessary.

SAFETY

Sturdy, closed-toe footwear is strongly recommended. Flip-flops, sandals, high heels, or open-toed shoes are not permitted. Some boarding areas may include steep steps, loose gravel, or uneven ground. Steps onto vintage equipment may be up to 20 inches in height.

Guests with limited mobility should contact the Ticket Agent in advance for assistance or accommodation planning. Most passenger cars were built prior to ADA design standards and may include narrow aisles, stairs, and small restrooms.

Alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited onboard and on railroad property. A cash bar may be available on select excursions, as advertised. Passengers are expected to drink responsibly. Small coolers for personal food and beverages are welcome, but large coolers (those with two handles) are not permitted due to space limitations.

Trains operate rain or shine. Smoking is prohibited aboard all trains.

The Finger Lakes Rail Experience is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please keep track of your personal belongings.

Certified service animals are welcome, but pets are not.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Seats are not individually assigned. Groups wishing to sit together should purchase tickets in a single order and board together. Reservations may be made by car name or number, but not by seat.

Passenger cars used for excursions were constructed primarily in the 1940s and 1950s. Accessibility may be limited due to narrow passageways, steps, and other vintage features. While uncommon, mechanical issues may occur with historic equipment.

Some first-class cars contain more than one type of seating arrangement. Guests may be asked to rotate seats during the trip to ensure all riders experience the full range of accommodations. Ticket class refers to type of service and amenities, not a specific car.

Guests requiring assistance with boarding or mobility are responsible for bringing a companion to assist. That person must also hold a valid ticket.

Unauthorized vending or solicitation onboard is not permitted. All vendors must be approved in advance.

While every effort will be made to maintain published schedules, delays or cancellations may occur. Please avoid planning time-sensitive travel immediately after your excursion.

REFUND POLICY

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. No exceptions will be made for scheduling conflicts, weather, illness, or personal circumstances. We can provide credit for future travel.

Refunds will only be issued in the rare event of cancellation by the Finger Lakes Rail Experience, and in such cases, refunds will be processed less applicable ticketing fees.

Tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred to other events, or resold through unofficial channels. The Finger Lakes Rail Experience does not honor railroad employee passes or non-revenue travel programs.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any guest whose behavior compromises the safety or enjoyment of others.

ON-SITE EVENTS AND HOLIDAY TRAINS

Please wear appropriate footwear. Though historic train cars are not ADA-compliant, many guests with limited mobility can be accommodated with advance notice. Please contact us with questions.

Events operate in all weather conditions โ€” rain, snow, or shine. No refunds will be issued due to weather or mechanical delay.

Your presence constitutes agreement that your likeness, voice, and name may be used for promotional or archival purposes in any media, without limitation.

By participating in any Finger Lakes Rail Experience excursion or entering related property, you and your guests agree to hold harmless the Finger Lakes Rail Experience, Finger Lakes Railway, and any partners or affiliates from liability related to injury, illness (including COVID-19), property loss, or damages. You assume full responsibility for all associated risks.
